More and yet more practising

I ran into real trouble trying to get photos into my blog on the IPad. This is done through yet another app! I have no idea whether this has worked or not!!

Actually it has. No one is more astonished than me. These two photos are courtesy Marion Proctor who wove these four colour double weave samplers on her 16 shaft loom. Nice!! I do believe that the more shafts the better with this weave technique.

As I am hamfisted at this lark, I will take photos every day and include them in a blog. The app is a Blog app from Google.

      The best place is the Journal of Complex Weavers which has had several articles by Bonnie Inouye and Marguerite Gingras. There may be something on Bonnie's website.

    I have had some information from Bonnie Inouye which is that she going to teach this technique at the Handweaver's Studio in London 'in the near future'. This might well be a Complex Weavers only course. But I advise you to join Complex Weavers to get access to the back numbers of their Journal.

About Me

I am weaver and - -. I dye my yarns with acid dyes, I paint my warps, put fabric collages and stencils on my weaving. I have three looms, a 12 inch wide, 12 shaft Meyer for demos and courses, a 30 inch Louet Kombo which is nominally portable but has a stand, two extra beams and a home-made device containing a fan reed. And last a 32 shaft Louet Megado which is computer controlled, has a sectional warp and a second warp beam and I am the proud owner of an AVL warping wheel which I love to bits and started by drilling holes in. I inserted a device for putting a cross in. I have just acquired an inkle loom and had a lesson from an expert so I can watch TV and weave at the same time. I am interested in weaving with silk mostly 60/2 although I do quite a bit with 90/2 silk. I also count myself as a bookbinder with a special interest in Coptic binding.
